- Not many 1 year Diploma courses are available
- There are many local students
Polytechnic - Reputable
- Entry requirement is at medium difficulty
- Minimum IELTS is 6.0 and 6.5 for Post Graduate/Master level
- Tuition fee is less expensive than University (NZD 15,000 – 18,000/year)
- Admission process takes a little bit long
- Focus on practical and job oriented
- Spread out all over New Zealand
- Combination of locals and international are almost equal
Private Institution - Reputable only for certain programs
- Entry requirement is relatively easier
- Minimum IELTS is 5.5 and 6.5 for Post Graduate/Master level
- Tuition fee is cheaper (NZD 13,500 – 17,000/year)
- Admission process takes faster
- Focus on practical and job oriented
- Spread out all over New Zealand with mainly in Auckland
- More international students than local
- More English language class available
Note :
If you do not meet the English criteria, you have to enroll for English bridging course in New Zealand prior your main study program. (English class cost you approximately NZD 200-350/week)
Remember that graduate from either University, Polytechnic or Private Institute will have the same WORK VISA ELIGIBILITY and point allocation for migration (no difference)
